Tiburón Debuts On Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play List
Tiburón’s Black Course has been selected to the 2009 Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play list. This is the first time the Black Course appears on the annual list which ranks the top public-access layouts in the U.S. as selected by Golfweek’s rating system. Golfweek’s rating process consists of a national team of 450 golf course raters who judge the courses on a basis of 10 criteria of architectural merit to determine the public-access golf courses to make the list. The complete list will be featured in an upcoming guide, Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play, which according to Golfweek is “an essential handbook on where to go, play and experience the best of the best in golf.” The digest-sized guide will be mailed to Golfweek subscribers on May 1.
The Black Course is one of two superb 18-hole championship courses designed by golf legend Greg Norman that you may enjoy at the Tiburón Golf Club in Naples. Some of the unique characteristics of Tiburón’s 36 holes are stacked sod wall bunkers, fairways lined with native vegetation to blend into the environment, and no rough.
