Our residents continue to be awe-inspired by the natural surroundings in Pelican Preserve. With preserves, boardwalks and wildlife all around, there is always something new to explore and admire. We have decided to put together a Pelican Preserve nature calendar with photos from our residents within the community. Alan Maltz, the official wildlife photographer for the state of Florida, will act as judge to pick out the best photos for the calendar, along with notecards. All proceeds from the calendar and notecards will go towards our Crooked Garden (Butterfly Garden) to help enhance the garden’s features and keep up with the maintenance.

Hello from Parkland Golf & Country Club! We created this blog in the hopes of giving you a taste for what life is like at Parkland Golf & Country Club, as well as other fabulous WCI Communities. This is your insider look at what makes being a resident and Member of Parkland Golf & Country Club so fabulous and to learn more about how you can join the Parkland family.

One of the things we pride ourselves on here at Parkland is the amount of Member events we host year-round. There is never a loss for things to do! Whether it’s a spa day, fitness class, golf lesson, cardio-tennis workout or simply enjoying a poolside cocktail, we truly offer a resort-style Club experience that the whole family can enjoy. I have a lot to show you around our beautiful clubhouse and community, and I would be happy to personally give you a tour next time you’re in the area.

We recently introduced a new pizza take-out menu option - Presto Pizza Pick-Up. We created a few pizza options, along with delicious calzones for a quick meal option for our members. It has been a great success and the members love it. We must have sold about 10 pizza pies after the first two days!

This summer, things are definitely heating up at Westshore Yacht Club. Chef Nick at The Bay Club conducts a monthly cooking class for residents and members each month. We had a successful inaugural class at the end of April. The group cooked Chilean Sea Bass En Papillote, where each participant prepared their own dish from slicing and dicing the ingredients to cooking it in The Bay Club’s kitchen. With complimentary wine, great company and a delicious entrée, everyone enjoyed the culinary cooking experience with Chef Nick and The Bay Club service staff.

Tiburón’s Black Course has been selected to the 2009 Golfweek’s Best Courses You Can Play list. This is the first time the Black Course appears on the annual list which ranks the top public-access layouts in the U.S. as selected by Golfweek’s rating system.
