What’s Happening

Nick Schecodnic

Wow - did we have a seafood extravaganza at The Bay Club! We recently introduced few new member events at the Club, with our Bubba Gump Shrimp Night kicking off the fun-filled calendar of events. Next up, we have our annual Member Tree Trimming Party. This year we are also having our Marina Members deck their boats with lights to share in the holiday spirit. It should be quite a spectacular spectacle out on the bay and in the Club. We are also looking forward to other themed dinner, fun activities including our themed New Year’s Eve Party.

What memorable event comes to mind that you are looking forward to attending this holiday season?

New Eats

Nick Schecodnic

Throughout the week, we enjoy the company of many of our members dining at The Bay Club. I just introduced a brand-new menu for The Bistro and at our tiki bar. There are  new culinary concoctions, along with popular menu items from our older menus. I enjoy hearing the members’ feedback on their dining experiences. I strive to cater the menus to fit their favorite dishes and ideas. Our goal is to exceed our members’ expectations and offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

Deck the Boats with…

Chip Stanley

I am very excited to see all of the boats in our marina. It creates a wonderful boating community on Tampa Bay. This holiday season, at Westshore Yacht Club Marina, we plan on decking the boats with lights with the holiday spirit in mind on December 18.  It should be a great way for our members to showcase their boats and be part of the holiday cheer throughout The Bay Club. In addition, it should be a great night to enjoy the company of neighbors and fabulous food.

Have any of you been involved in a boat parade before? If so, when, where and how did it go?

Spa Splash

We just recently held the Look, Feel and Be Fabulous Event at The Bay Club. We wanted to offer our members something different, so we collaborated with the Chef and Fitness Director to provide a wellness event focusing on healthy cooking and exercises you can do even when you can’t make it to the gym. We also had our Éminence skincare specialist offering complimentary mini-services for all. Our members really benefited from the skincare specialist being present, asking a variety of questions about skincare regimen and what products would best suit their skin.

What is on your mind about taking care of your skin?

Now You’re Cookin’

This summer, things are definitely heating up at Westshore Yacht Club. Chef Nick at The Bay Club conducts a monthly cooking class for residents and members each month. We had a successful inaugural class at the end of April. The group cooked Chilean Sea Bass En Papillote, where each participant prepared their own dish from slicing and dicing the ingredients to cooking it in The Bay Club’s kitchen. With complimentary wine, great company and a delicious entrée, everyone enjoyed the culinary cooking experience with Chef Nick and The Bay Club service staff.

The Workout Balance

Keeping up a demanding workout schedule along with other commitments will undoubtedly leave you feeling fatigued. The Bay Club’s Fitness Director Paul Weidner at Westshore Yacht Club suggests that if you feel chronically fatigued, it may be due to one or more of the following reasons:

  • Low iron levels - especially among women and vegetarians. Iron helps to transport oxygen in the blood and therefore one of the first symptoms of iron deficiency is fatigue and an inability to exercise to the same intensity. Red meat is your best source of iron as it is the most readily absorbable source - aim for three-to-four lean, red meat meals per week. If you don’t eat meat, consuming vitamin C with another iron source will assist its absorption. Click to continue reading »

It’s a Pizza Party

Executive Chef Nick and his staff helped the kids create their own personal pizza masterpieces with a “Make-Your-Own-Pizza” buffet, during a birthday party held at The Bay Club in Westshore Yacht Club. Each child made a small dough crust, while creating a flour-infused, fun-filled room. They added their preferred ingredients from the buffet line, topped it with cheese and The Bay Club chefs cooked the pizza pies to perfection. The pizza was enjoyed by all and The Bay Club looks forward to hosting many more Pizza Parties - next time, without the snowfall of flour!

What brought the Floto Family to Westshore Yacht Club?

Water views, an abundant amount of wonderful residents and a gated community brought Nancy Floto and her family to Westshore Yacht Club in early 2007. Nancy and her family have created an ideal retreat in their Bayfront estate home, while also taking advantage of the community’s convenient location to anywhere in the Tampa Bay area. The Flotos enjoy entertaining friends and family on a weekly basis at their home, which directly overlooks Old Tampa Bay.

The unique Club lifestyle at The Bay Club provides a home away from home, with a welcoming staff along with a variety of fantastic food and fabulous events. Nancy says, “The day spa in the Club is a five-star facility! From massages to facials to the staff’s product knowledge, it truly is a memorable experience. I couldn’t ask for anything more. The staff is always on their toes and the chef’s menu is top-notch!”

Nancy claims that Westshore Yacht Club is, “the hidden treasure of the Tampa Bay area. I love living here!”

Meet Westshore Yacht Club Residents, Marc and Leonie Linscheid

Marc and Leonie Linscheid moved into their Lowry townhome in Westshore Yacht Club in October 2008. They both had a fabulous experience throughout the sales process and enjoyed working with the sales team who was full of enthusiasm and first-class workmanship. Within a few days of moving into the community, Marc and Leonie realized it was the best decision to move south from Chicago. The energetic residents and neighbors throughout the community created a friendly, fun place to live complemented by the unique lifestyle within the community.

Marc and Leonie enjoy The Bay Club, less than 100 yards from their front door. Dining out is an almost nightly activity. The convenience of The Bay Club’s location, exquisite food and welcoming ambiance make it an ideal hangout to meet their friends and make new ones.

They both love their home’s elegant, 10-feet ceilings, high-quality construction and soothing water views, especially from the fourth-floor “Sky Box” which Marc uses as an office. While Leonie, an interior designer, uses the downstairs study as her home office. Leonie also adds it is her first time living in a gated community and appreciates the community’s 24-hour manned gatehouse. She says, “Westshore Yacht Club is a unique, top-notch community. There is no other place like it in the Tampa Bay area with this kind of location, residents and setting on Old Tampa Bay. My husband and I could not be happier and would recommend Westshore Yacht Club to anyone.”
